Hello,
One of the main challenges of this technology is specifically and accurately targeting the DNA sequence to be modified. Off-target effects may occur when the CRISPR-Cas9 system makes unintended cuts in the genome. This can lead to unwanted mutations and may pose a challenge in gene editing, affecting the safety and accuracy of existing therapies.
i need your concerns about this if possible

here’s my answer:
crispr is not a human designed enzyme it’s A nature’s one made up by the bacteria it self ,the real key use of this technology is that the crispr cas-9 complex is programmed to targed only one sequence of the DNA that is made for it contains a cr RNA that guide it to its target and additionally In order for this enzyme to be able to perform the double-strand break (DBS), it must recognize a small sequence of (3-5) pb called PAM (protospacer adjacent motif) located at the beginning of the sequence of each the foreign DNA (the target ) and the spacer( the one is the cr RNA) , this about the potential mistake of recognition ,in the other hand , as you said dr yes there could be a high potential To mutate specially in the natural ways to repair. The break and that was a concern previously before developing a crispr derivative techniques such as prime editing witch kept the crispr’s ability to recognize a specific DNA sequence we chose and replaced the cutting sites with other loops that works on changing the bases form instead of cutting ( chemical interactions with the bases residues)
